Yuri studied with some of the most renowned professors at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire: Evgeny Kolosov, Rinat Ibragimov (double bass) and Albert Lehman (composition) and is always happy to pass the precious knowledge he gained from both his teachers and from decades of his professional experience on to his students.
Yuri has taught Jazz Double Bass and Music Theory at the Centro Professione Musica in Milan, as well as at the Trento State Conservatory. From 2015 onwards, he is a jazz faculty member at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, UK. In addition, he has led diverse workshops in the field of both classical and jazz double bass in England, Germany, Ireland, Italy and the United States.
